Marty Rathbun: Violent psychopath, cult militia leader

Long before his stunning fall from grace and expulsion from the Church of Scientology, Marty Rathbun was a practitioner of violence.

It was violence he perpetrated furtively, in secret.

It was the violence of a coward.

And, as cowards do, Rathbun—when confronted by his violence—would tearfully confess.

Punching his victims, throwing them over tables, shaking them, slamming them into walls and filing cabinets and, then, gleefully bragging about his brutish, thuggish behavior, it all spilled out in Marty Rathbun's own words.

Tom DeVocht - Consummate Con Man

Tom DeVocht to a tabloid TV host: “Put me on a lie detector test. I would do that in a heartbeat.”

And why not? When you’re a genuine pathological liar, a polygraph will hardly register anything more than a flat line.

So let us review the life of Tom DeVocht in this light:

A Liar is a Coward. A Perjurer is a Criminal. The Rathbun, Rinder, DeVocht Conspiracy

“Individuals with criminal minds tend to band together since the presence of other criminals about them tends to prove their own distorted ideas of man in general.”

—L. Ron Hubbard

As is well known, liars are cowards and cowards are liars. In fact, it’s a specific part of the Scientology Scripture as contained in its ethics and justice codes.

So it is that while lying is despised in society as a whole, it’s actually considered criminal within the religion of Scientology.

A LAST MOMENT OF CLARITY

But the story, tragically, doesn't end there. For here are three criminals—Rathbun, Rinder and DeVocht—and since liars are cowards, it was self-evident they still had a dark secret. After all, every one of them had blown which, according to the Church’s Founder, only occurs when one has overts and withholds (transgressions). In this instance, it’s the textbook example virtually proving Mr. Hubbard’s discovery.

BUSTED, BITTER, BROKE…  AND PSYCHOTIC

Actually, it’s no surprise that shortly after confessing, Rathbun suddenly departed. After all, the threatening external battles had ended and the Church was able to dedicate all its resources to constructive activity—which is precisely what a psychotic cannot stand. In the Founder’s words describing those afflicted with psychosis:

TABLOID JOURNALISM

How do they get away with it? More importantly, how can dishonest journalists live with themselves?

The answer is simple. They aren’t looking for the “truth,” they are only interested in a “story.” And in the 21st-century Internet age—where any blogger can post anything he wants, anonymously no less—the so-called mainstream media is more and more pressed to make a buck. And more times than not, today’s talking heads themselves cut their teeth on the Internet fringe.

Tom DeVocht: Damned in His Own Words

“Many antisocial persons will freely confess to the most alarming crimes when forced to do so, but will have no faintest sense of responsibility for them.”
—L. Ron Hubbard

Through this website, a Rogues’ Gallery has been laid bare—their crimes revealed, their malfeasance disclosed and their stories exposed for the lies that they are.

Tom DeVocht: Love/Hate

Marty Rathbun, Mike Rinder and Tom DeVocht, all having been demoted and expelled in disgrace from their former religion, now rail against the man who removed them.

But what did they say about him before they transformed into embittered apostates?

First, though he now uses them as mouthpieces for his vitriol, this is what Rathbun once told a pair of local reporters about the leader of the Church:

Defrocked Apostates: The Road to Redemption

Does the Scientology Justice system include any mechanism for one to atone for criminal misconduct when it is of such biblical proportions? The answer is yes.
